Which generators use what
| Generator | What does the work |
|---|---|
| Capture 3D | An external AI service, from your photos |
| Generate a 3D model | An external AI service, from your description |
| Generate image | An external AI service, from your description |
| Create minifig | An external AI service, from your description |
| Minifig from a photo | An external AI service, from the one photo of a person you upload |
| Voxelise | Our own brick engine. Nothing is sent to an external AI service. |
A brick model's ordered steps, parts list and PDF are worked out by our own brick engine, from the brick model it made. A pipeline runs these same generators one after another, and each step follows the row above for its generator.
What the external AI services receive
For the generators that use one, the external AI service doing that work receives the images and the words you gave the generator — never your name, your email address or your date of birth. It holds them under its own terms and its own retention period, not ours. Which service does which kind of work is listed by name in the Privacy Policy, and can change. A generation runs on one service — or, for Generate a 3D model, sometimes on two listed services in turn: the first draws a picture from your words, the second builds the model from that picture alone. That picture is never shown to you or published; we keep it privately for 7 days after the generation ends, so our team can check a failed or poor result, and then delete it. If a service cannot be reached before it has accepted your work, another listed service may do that work instead — never both, and the price you were shown does not change.
Whether a service may use what it receives to train its models is decided by that service's own terms. What each one says is in the Privacy Policy.
What you may put in
- Only photos, files and descriptions you have the right to use.
- Check a photo for faces, addresses, schools and screens before you upload it, and keep personal details out of descriptions.
- For Minifig from a photo, only a photo you have the right to use, of a person who is you or who agreed to be made into a minifigure. You state this in a rights line before the photo is uploaded; the figure cannot be generated without it, and we record that you stated it. Started from a minifig picture you made here, no photo is uploaded and no rights line is asked. A 3D figure is never turned into a brick set.
- Do not ask a generator for somebody else's licensed franchise. A search that points at one does not offer you a generator.
Every description is checked before any credits are taken. Descriptions asking for sexual content involving a child, explicit sexual content or graphic gore are refused, and a refusal costs nothing. We keep a refused description for 30 days and then delete it; only our support team can read it, and every time they do is recorded — see the Privacy Policy. The generator also checks what it is about to make; a refusal at that point fails the job, and a failed job is refunded in full. Real people and brand names may be refused by the generator.
Who owns the result
What you make here stays yours. A result stays private until you publish it, and the Terms of Service say what publishing shares and what it does not.
We claim no ownership of your results, and we pass on to you whatever rights in a result we receive from the AI service that made it. Whether the law protects a result as your own work — by copyright, for example — depends on the country and on how much of your own creativity went into it, so we cannot promise that it does.
You may use your results for any lawful purpose, including selling things you build from them, as long as you do not use someone else's design, character, brand or likeness without permission, and do not suggest that the LEGO Group or anyone else made or approved them. On Beginner, a picture you download carries the bricknity mark, and it must stay on.
What a result is, and is not
AI results can be inaccurate, can differ from your photos or your description, and can look like other people's work. A 3D model or a picture is not made of bricks. A brick model is Buildable when it comes with steps and a parts list; that says it has instructions, not that it is guaranteed to stand up.
Beside the badge, a chip says whether the structure was checked and what the check found: Structurally validated, Needs review, Has issues or Not checked. Not checked never means passed. A model that fails a structural check is marked Buildable · partial, and the page says what did not work.
A generation that succeeded is not refunded because you do not like the result. Regenerate runs it again with the same inputs, free while your plan's allowance lasts — Beginner 0, Builder 1, Master Builder 3 per generation — and at the generator's price after that. If a result is wrong rather than disappointing — the file does not open, or it has nothing to do with what you gave it — write to [email protected]: support can give back its credits — up to what it kept — within 90 days of the generation, once for each generation, as credits and not as money. Support can also run a generation again for you free of charge; that does not use up your plan's free retries.
What your plan changes
The price of a generation is the same on every plan; the plan decides the quality. On Beginner, 3D models are made at standard quality, and while you stay on it your work shows a bricknity mark across its picture or 3D view on its page, and a downloaded picture carries the mark in the same place (a 3D file is never marked). On Builder and Master Builder, 3D models are made at higher quality and nothing you have made carries the mark, including what you made before you moved. Pictures made before 3 October 2026 keep the small mark in their corner.
The AI-generated label
Every AI-generated build carries an AI-generated label, on its page and on its share card. It cannot be switched off, and no plan removes it. Do not present an AI-generated result as a photograph, or as a real person when it is not.
On a page, the label is how we tell people a build was made with AI. Downloaded files do not yet carry a machine-readable AI-generated marker inside them; we are adding one to pictures and 3D files. If you share a result, please say it was made with AI.
What you agreed to at sign-up
Creating an account asks you to confirm that you understand bricknity uses automated processing to turn your photos, files and descriptions into 3D models. It is a separate answer from agreeing to the terms, and it is never ticked for you. The Privacy Policy says what is processed and where.

- 1.0 · 2026年10月13日 (UTC) — Version 1.0, the first in force: who owns a result and what you may do with it, where to read what each AI service says about training, and that downloaded files do not yet carry a machine-readable AI marker.
- draft-8 · 2026年10月10日 (UTC) — Draft 8: Generate a 3D model can run on two listed services in turn — the first draws a picture from your words, the second builds the model from that picture; the picture is never shown to you and is deleted a set number of days after the generation ends.
- draft-7 · 2026年10月9日 (UTC) — Draft 7: support can give back the credits of a wrong result within 90 days of the generation, once for each generation and up to what it kept; support can run a generation again free of charge, without using your plan's free retries; a refused description is kept for 30 days and then deleted.
- draft-6 · 2026年10月8日 (UTC) — Draft 6: when a result is wrong rather than disappointing, support can give back its credits within 30 days — as credits, not money.
- draft-5 · 2026年10月5日 (UTC) — Draft 5: the external AI services are listed by name in the Privacy Policy, and which one does which kind of work can change; one generation runs on one service, and if it cannot be reached before accepting your work a second listed service may do it at the same price.
- draft-4 · 2026年10月3日 (UTC) — Draft 4: the bricknity mark follows your plan today — shown across your work on its page and burned into a downloaded picture while you are on Beginner, and lifted from everything when you move to a paid plan.
- draft-3 · 2026年9月30日 (UTC) — Draft 3: Minifig from a photo can also start from a minifig picture you made here, with no rights line; a 3D figure is never turned into a brick set.
- draft-2 · 2026年9月28日 (UTC) — Draft 2: adds Minifig from a photo and the rights line it asks for.
- draft-1 · 2026年9月28日 (UTC) — First draft for counsel.
